We celebrated Art Glass month by having an Art Glass contest. From May 9th to May
12th, the contest pieces were on display and the "Peoples Choice" Award voting boxes
were out. At the Open House on May 12, 2007 we announced the "Peoples Choice" awards
and displayed the winning art pieces.
We really want to thank our friends that helped present demonstrations and make
our open house a success! Each of you really helped out, and we've listed our individual
"thank you" below! It took a lot of work to pull the event together, and we could
not have done it without you.
During the Open House we had many people help out by giving demonstrations on Silver
Art Clay, jewelry fusing, lamp worked beads, glasskolben ornaments (blowing small
Christmas ornaments using propane torches), mosaics, stepping stones and stained
glass. Sona and some other instructors from the Art House of McKinney helped children
paint small pictures and demonstrated how to throw pottery.
We took a lot of pictures of the events that went on, so many that it's too much
for one page. The following list has links that take you to the different pages
covering the Stained Glass Open House:

Sona, thanks for always supporting us and having fun with the kids and adults, showing
them how fun pottery throwing can be! |
 |
This is an artist/instructor that works with Sona at the Art House of McKinney,
she worked the morning showing kids and adults how fun it is to throw pottery. (I
will get you name from Sona and update this page, I promise!) Additionally, another
instructor worked a table allowing kids to create oil crayon/watercolor paintings. |
 |
Christie (on the left) - thank you for coming over and helping show our customers
the art of pattern design. |
 |
Angela - Thanks once again for helping show customers how quality stained glass
is crafted and for the exceptional work you always do. |
